One of these days I will be able to get out to help someone else. I feel like I don't dare ask for help on my rig cause I never have time to help you guys on yours. Maybe the first of the year will slow down a skosh. Wishfull thinking I guess.
Ty, I'll be happy to come down and spend a day on your rig, just as soon as I have something to drive.
Re: Kevin's 1985 4Runner
For sure man. Maybe when I take it to Brigham I will pick you up on the way

Just got back from Jiffy Lube - passed I&M and I'm legal. Who wants to go wheeling?
Re: Kevin's 1985 4Runner

I'll be working, but Brady and I are talking about hitting Five Mile Pass in two weeks and looking to see what else is out there besides Snakes. Be a good chance to feel out the '85 and get some exploring in too. Wanna come?

Probably not, but keep me in the loop.

If I had a rig that I was willing to wheel I'd go, but with the Runner down I can't chance putting my truck down. It is not an option to only have 1 rig.

I will see what I can do. I didn't get the trailer this weekend so I will be picking it up this weekend and may haul my Runner up the next weekend. I just need to see whats going on for the next few weeks and see when I might have another chance.

Re: Kevin's 1985 4Runner
Yeah, now I just need it to stop snowing so I can crawl around my driveway and put the springs and transfer case on.
Re: Kevin's 1985 4Runner
Springs today, I think, I don't have to work until late tomorrow and I've got the second off, so if I'm going to have it done by next weekend it's gotta be now. Anybody who wants is welcome to stop by and freeze their tail off with me.

kevin, you suck at updating your build thread. I shouldn't have to see it in person to find out what you did to it lately.

Re: Kevin's 1985 4Runner
No, I'm wonderful at updating my threads. I'm horrible at working on the truck when it's 25 degrees out and I don't have a heated garage. I'll update when I actually accomplish something.
Re: Kevin's 1985 4Runner
Got back from getting Nicole's truck some OME love at Cruiser Outfitters this morning, and I may have accidentally asked Kurt to order me a set of Dakar leaves and OME Nitrocharger shocks for the '85. I didn't mean it, I swear. It was totally an accident, it just slipped out.
They'll be here in a week . Andrew, can we party in your garage again?

Re: Kevin's 1985 4Runner
I couldn't stand another morning of not making progress on the truck, so I froze my arse off for a couple hours putting on my wheel spacers and KM2s in preparation for the new springs coming in hopefully this week.

After:
NOW it looks like a truck. I'll let you all know how the 4.10s like the 33s after I drive it to work tonight.
Anybody know anybody selling 4.88 or 5.29 3rds?

I'm interested to know how you like the 4.10s with those tires. Your manual tranny might make all the difference.

Nope . I was able to hold 70 in 4th on the flat, but I lost speed on even the smallest hills and 5th gear is useless. I don't want to install my 5.29s, but if I can't find a trade for 4.88s I may have to.
Re: Kevin's 1985 4Runner
Do you think the 5.29s would be too low?

I like the new wheels, are those the ones you won?
Keep your eyes out for a red 4th gen runner up in your neighborhood, its my brother-in-law. He moved up to Magna recently.

I ran 5.29's in my 91 Regular Cab pickup with 33x12.5x15 old style MTR's. I still had a hard time holding 5th gear on the freeway with the 22RE and 5 speed manual. Perhaps with skinnier tires, the 4.88's would be fine.
