Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
Dutch oven pasketti and meatballs is easy enough. I'll cook if everybody else wants to chip in a couple bucks and bring potluck stuff - sides, french bread, desert, whatever?
Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
I could do Dutch Oven Cobbler. Even if my dad doesn't go I could possibly use his trailer. Then we could maybe do pancakes, sausage and eggs for breakfast.
We could maybe just split meals? depending on how many end up going, a couple of us could do Friday night and a couple do Saturday morning then take care of your own lunch on Saturday?
As of now is it still just the 5 of us? Me, Kevin, Andrew, Brad, and Brady?

Josh/TRD270 says he's not going unless I bring the Bastard, but that's bullshit. He's going. The last Noa/MalditoX said was he's a maybe. A fellow from work is a maybe. We could put out more invites I guess, but I'm cool with a medium size group myself.
Big breakfasts are not conducive to being rolling at the asscrack of dawn. If we're not camping in the Noofs, I'm going to scarf a bagel and try to be rolling by 0800. If you guys wanna eat pancakes and shit, you can start cooking at 0700 or you can meet me out there.
Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
I don't think more invites. It sounds like there are plenty. Even if it ends up just the 5 of us. Plus i might have my dad and a couple brothers. That's plenty big. I was just curious.

It's too bad everybody else doesn't work boring graveyard shifts too, or they could help us plan these things.
Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
So where we are not going to be doing much "crawling" should I break the 39s back out for this trip?? I think they might give me a nicer ride if I can air them down a little more, and they have a lot more meat on them if I need it. But I don't have a spare. I think maybe the no spare kills this idea, especially for where we are going.

The '88 isn't registered, so if we're dirt roads all the way there and back I'll consider it. If not I'll probably I'm sure Brad and I will carpool in either my truck or his 4runner.

Oh BS you're '88 is too registered....just not in this state. Also going through Corinne with me following you won't be a big deal at all. I'll just stay right behind you.
As for food, I like the idea of the south end guys cooking dinner Friday night and having it ready when us northern people get there, then we can do a simple breakfast Saturday morning for the southern people or something. I have a camp chef and Dutch ovens to cook as well to make things easier.

Is it dirt roads from Corinne to our destination?

Looks 15-20 miles from Corinne to the turnoff at Lampo Junction, and that's about the soonest that you'd hit dirt that I can see.
Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
So what we have about a month to get the bastard running on its own power? I'm also in need of a spare.... guess I better start looking or swap the 35's on

I certainly agree that a spare would be a must for this trip. Last time I was out in Kelton/Devil's Playground area I got a flat, although those were street rated tires at the time lol but still

25 miles of pavement, but remember this isn't city pavement. This is Box Elder County middle of now where pavement. Is it still technically registered in Idaho? Plus you will have a Davis County Sheriff Deputy right behind you. I'm sure he knows how to talk his way out of shit. If you see anyone on patrol it would be the sheriffs department, but I would be surprised at that. I could get more info. If all else fails you could tow it to where the asphalt ends and park your truck there. Or you could just carpool like a sissy !!!!

So currently we have 3 rigs that we need to figure out how to get on this trip. Mine, The bastard, and Brady's 88.
Brady what would it take to get your legal to drive??
Kevin??
I need to find a Saturday that I can go to Brigham. I think one good Saturday and mine could be rolling.

I have a circuit board to build that will modify the timing signal from the 3RZ distributor to something the Megasquirt can understand. In theory, building and installing this board is the only major barrier between me and a running truck. But "running" is relative, because even once it cranks and starts I have to build timing and fuel maps from scratch, and that's going to take a LOT of trial and error. Realistically, considering everything else I've got going on, it's going to take several more months before the Bastard will be ready for a trip.
Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
Excuses, excuses!! Well then go ahead and drive up to Brigham and finish mine for me!!!! I'm thinking about going up on the 8th if you're available. I haven't check the calendar yet but I think that might be the only weekend before the 21st.
After that its Wrestling every weekend.

Well technically it's still registered in Idaho and I haven't transferred the title to Utah yet, so I could probably get away with driving it out in the sticks with no issues. To get it Utah legal I need to:
Get Utah Title
Get some fenders to cover the tires
Safety and Emissions Inspections
There's a pretty good chance I'll make this trip in my truck. It'll be more comfortable anyways!!

I'll start another Google doc and paste the link in here. That way we can keep track of who will be attending and what everyone will be bringing.
