Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
Well, just got a call from one of the Scouts. Their 2nd leader bailed on them so they asked if I could go with them - otherwise they have to stay home. I felt bad...these kids want to be outdoors - no way I'm discouraging that. So...I'm taking them camping tonight. We'll be camping at Soldiers Pass/Long Canyon, which is North of Little Moab, West of Utah Lake. Since a storm is coming in, we'll likely bail by 11am and head home.
Camping spot (more or less): 40.198002, -111.969548
Just in case anyone wants to crash our party...

I might not even come out tomorrow, guys. I'm wiped. If you don't see me by 0915 or so, don't wait.

New rule! Posers with P rated tires and stupid little factory jacks are not allowed on any further Saturday afternoon expeditions.
Everybody get home ok?

I got home alright. Currently working on replacing the non-LT rated tires. I do think that was kind of a freak thing (tires don't normally shred on dirt roads), but it's definitely something I can learn from. Thanks for all the help Kevin and Brad. Time to increase my recovery gear!!

Was good. Got a little sleeted on early, but it cleared up around noon. We drove through Lookout Pass and came down the backside of the Sheeprocks with the intent to drive over them and end up checking out some mining ruins, but the road I'd eyeballed ended up being a little too tight for the paint on Brady's truck, so we kept on south, stopped and shot a bit, then popped out a couple miles south of Eureka.
