Probably depends on when we leave Friday. I'm free to head out early in the morning, but I know some of you suckers have day jobs. Probably also depends on who else wants drive all the damned way up to Corinne just to drive halfway back - that's a long pull for anybody south of salt lake, so if there's guys coming from the south and guys coming from the north then we need to set up a rendezvous. Guys coming from the south have to cross the tracks and use a causeway the belongs to the railroad, and apparently you can catch a ticket for that depending on if the railroad sees you and what sort of mood they're in.
Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
I know you have to take the real rail row coming from the hogups too, but country has legal row there as well do to it being the only access to that range.
If most of you are coming from the south it would be nice if a couple would come up to Corinne. I'm not sure about heading out that way on my own been there done that when i was young and stupid!

Brad and I can probably come up and run out that way with you, since we're already half-way there.

I'm game for coming up north since either way I go is a drive......in other words, what Brady said.

Hope you can make it, Noa. Need to see more of you.
Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
I invited my dad and brothers to this. I hope that's okay. I don't know if any of them will show up.
So where are we planning to camp? Newfs or Hogups? I wondered if some of us are coming from north we may want to camp hog ups then in the morning head down to the newfs. What do you guys think? Or the guys coming from the south could find a place to camp then hang out a couple hours till the rest of us show up!!

The cave is at Lakeside. I'm guessing 20 miles from the northern tip of the Newfies.
What time are we going out there? I'm down to head out early, but camping at Lakeside could make exploring the Newfies Friday and Saturday a problem.

Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
Are you guys taking your boys?? I am planning on it. Here is my problem. I will leave as soon as I can. I may try to take the boys out of school early, but, I am still hoping to have my rig ready to roll, and I will need to drive to Brigham to get it. That itself is a 2 hour drive so the further north we can camp would be better for me. Unless i hit the road from Brigham i wouldn't be able to get to the cave until super late. I know you can cut google time almost in half, but it tells me almost 5 hours to the Newfies. I'm guessing it is closer to 2.5 or 3 if I drive straight there. If we are going to explore the Newfies and Hogups I think it would be better to camp either the south end of the hog ups or the north end of the Newfies.
Are you planning to go home the way you come in or do you want to start Saturday at the Newfies then work north through the Hogups, Kelton, then pending time Spiral Jetty, Rozel Point, then back home via I-15? Brady, I you are going to tow you can park your truck at the Dairy and you shouldn't have any problem through Corinne. Are you registered?

Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
I don't think we have time for Newfies + Hogups. Not enough time to do either justice anyway. I want to explore both in depth.
Ok, let's do this. Let's call a rendezvous at the Lakeside cave Friday night. Those of us coming from the south will leave whenever and do whatever until then, and you all coming from the north can do your thing. Then lets haul out early Saturday morning for the Noofs and spend the day out there.
I'm bringing Ian for sure. Might have Nicole and Eli, depending. A fellow I work with might be joining us with his kids too.

Re: Newfoundland Mountains November 21st and 22nd
I should be good with that. It will take us northerners a little longer to get there so I expect dinner ready!! I am going to talk to my dad in the morning and see if any of them are going to come. If they are, then Brad and Brady can come from the south. If not then I will need someone to come from the north with me.
I know this is way in advance, but do we want to eat together or plan our own meals? If we eat together then I will see about bringing my dads trailer. He has all his goodies in there. Camp chef, dutch ovens, plates, damn near every thing you could need.
