Guns and Dirt Roads December 27, 28, or 29th

Just throwing this out there.  I've got the week off between Christmas and New Years.  Anyone wanna go find a dirt road and shoot some stuff??  I could do the 27th, 28th, or 29th.

I will have my in-laws in town... so any chance to slip away to go shoot stuff and meet some club members is a win, win, win.

As long as you are shooting west of the powerlines, and don't drive your vehicle past the designated main road, it is legal.

I used to go shoot out there a lot when I lived in Utah County. Is that area still covered in shells and casings?

I think they shut that down to shooting last year or the year before after someone started a fire

As far as I understand it, there is a shooting ban in that area, but it doesn't extend to all land in that area.

I have not seen a map of that area to verify exactly which lots are mentioned, but the language specifically indicates the land east of the power lines is banned. My understanding is that you are allowed to shoot west of the power lines. I've had buddies out there shooting when officials (not sure what agency) have stopped by. They confirmed that they were allowed to shoot west of the lines, but informed they were not able to drive their vehicles off the main road to drop off targets in the foot hills, as they had done. I could very well be wrong, but this how I currently understand it.

And yes, there still is a bunch of shells and garbage that irresponsible shooters have left behind. We filled a few trash bags with junk the last time we were out there.

Given the current weather, most lower elevation roads should be fine, but for reference,
I'll be driving a f-150 crew cab, lockered rear, and 33" BFG AT2's. (now with skids )
