September 6-9
Been toying with the idea of camping up around Sun Valley, Id and riding trails up that way. Thinking about finding a campsite up around here 43.797087, -114.421053 Wednesday evening/Thursday morning.
Anyone interested?
If Sun Valley are is a bit too far, I'd be happy to head towards Utah.

I'm going to bring the boy, I won't be able to leave until Friday afternoon and I'll have to be back Sunday night.
Re: September 6-9
That's a long way to go for Saturday riding. You sure?

Eeh... now that I look, not as much as I thought. So there's a hike-in campground and what looks like a horse campground? right there at Snowbasin. And there's all kinds of developed pay sites down on the reservoir. But it's all FS land and I don't see a lot of open dirt roads nearby on the MVUM, the nearest seem to be mostly on the other side of Pineview Res.
So we could try and stealth camp somewhere, or pay for a site and listen to generators all night, or "bikepack" into the hike-in campground (I kinda like this idea actually!), or find a proper dispersed spot and have a longer drive to trails.
But I'm still looking.
Re: September 6-9
I'd rather not listen to generators all night, but at worst case it wouldn't be a deal breaker.

Re: September 6-9
Our best bet for camping that doesn't suck will be trying to find a primitive spot up Avon Pass Rd. Could be as much as 45 minutes from Snow Basin riding, depending on what we find. OR, we load up some crap on the bikes and camp at the hike-in spots at Maples, which is literally right at the riding. We won't be far from the trucks, so we could keep food stashed in your fridge if you don't wanna eat Mountain House all weekend.
Or I'll drive up to you. Your call.
