I've never tuned mine.  It hasn't seemed worth the bother.

SWRs are cheap.  If anybody wants to snag one, we could probably do everybodies in the parking lot at camp.

My antenna has been "tuned" with an SWR but it's still around like a 2.5 on the meter so it's not even close to ideal. The signal is slightly better and more clear than before it was tuned but not a significant amount.

I mentioned this over on T4R but where most of the conversation is over here I should bring it to you guys.  There has been some talk over there about the Friday trails being to difficult for some of the lesser built rigs and I kind of agree.  Like I mentioned before Strike Ravine is not difficult but can be tricky.  I've never ran Flat Iron but it is rated higher.  My thought is, what if we swap Thursdays plan with Fridays plan, run the more difficult trails with the smaller group (with the bigger group having to help a lot of people will take more time).  I have already ran Strike Ravine so I wouldn't be hurt if you ran it on Thursday without me, plus I would like to run Sevenmile Pass.

I think the idea was to start with the easier trails on thursday, but if most of the guys with the milder trucks aren't going to get out until Friday I guess that doesn't make much sense?

I notice that the trails on Google docs were changed. I think that it makes more sense to run Kane Creek and Cliffhanger together seems they are right next to each other. Strike Ravine is clear on the other side of Moab. We should try to keep the trails we run same day close together so we can maximize time.

One thought I had is what about Friday we run Sevenmile Rim, Hidden Canyon, and Bartlett Wash. I know that Hidden Canyon is on rated a 2, BUT we could all run it together and VERY few of us could split off half way though the trail and run The Pickle, rated 8. The Pickle is basically a spurt off of Hidden Canyon that's only 1 mile long and meets back up with the Hidden Canyon trail. It is a hard trail and has been know for body damage but I think it would be awesome!!!

My vote is,

Friday: Sevenmile Rim, Bartlett Wash and ???

Saturday: Kane Creek and Cliff Hanger.

But if we get to any cliffs on Cliffhanger I get to drop kick Andrew in the BALLS!!!!

I've played with the trail groupings a bit. Kane Creeks starts in central Moab but finishes well South of Moab, where Strike Ravine is. I like running trails that someone has already been on. I took Flat Iron Mesa off the list after re-reading TrailDamage and Charles Wells' write-up about it. Nobody in our group has ever run the trail and there are a couple obstacles, "right next to a cliff" and one that "comes within inches of smashing the passenger side door." Seems a little extreme for our little group. But again, the trails aren't set in stone, we can go wherever we'd like...

I'm really fine running what ever.  I just thought that where Friday is the first day for most of us that Sevenmile would be a good kick off.  I've only ran Strike ravine 1 time and I don't even think we finished the whole thing.  I wouldn't feel comfortable leading it.

If Flat Iron has cliff obsticals then I vote stay away!!!!!!!!!!!

So if you haven't gotten the hint yet, I would like to run Sevenmile!!! So what if we keep Kane Creek and Strike Ravine on Saturday and do Sevenmile, and a something else on Friday. You guys could do Top of The World, Cliffhanger on Thursday. I am hoping to be there around 6:30 Thursday if anyone is around we could hit a super easy something then, but I doubt you guys will be back from all your other runs.

It's ok, Ty, think of it as aversion therapy.

That is actually not correct! I don't even care if we do sevenmile and cliffhanger. I just want to do sevenmile

My real name IS Wolf Girl.
Okay it's Erin.
Gear wise.. umm. a snatch strap, regular tow strap, a tiny lil compressor (just good for airing up tires) and of course jumper cables.. also have a CB, not tuned.
Hope to have my winch on by then, but we will see.

On Saturday, I say we run Kane Creek first thing in the morning. On the way back to Moab, we can stop by our camp and drop of "stock" rigs. Then, we head to Cliffhanger.

On Friday, we'll start with Sevenmile. If we decide to run something a "little" tougher, we can do Bartlett Overlook. If we're up for more of a challenge, we can zoom down to Poison Spider Mesa.

That plan sounds great to me Andrew. But don't put much weight on my opinion since I might only be there on Saturday/Sunday now

Cliffhanger..
Guessing a lot of cliffs? or entire trail runs on sides of cliffs?

There is a cliff at the very end of the trail, which we will most likely never get to. 99.9% of the trail is on solid ground. The plan is to run the trail about halfway until we get to the "top", where we can get out, walk a hundred yards, and enjoy some beautiful views.

I really think you guys will like Poison Spider Mesa - I'm trying to figure out when we can fit it in. Maybe Sunday?
