Re: Classics go to Moab III
Let's get a head count of people that are for sure going and how many are going with them. I think that will mage it easier to nail down what trails to run for sure. I don't want to waste much time once we are there trying to decide whether we should go.
Me and my 2 boys will be there Thursday evening. I couldn't get Wednesday night off and Britt wants the boys to go to school today, so we will leave as soon as Aiden gets it of school.

Re: Classics go to Moab III
I'm coming down at some point Wednesday, I'm free to leave any time after 0830 that day. I want to back in town some time Sunday night.
Re: Classics go to Moab III
Wolf Girl, if you want Kane Creek I think we can save that for Saturday for you.
Rough trail schedule looks something like this?
Wednesday evening: ? -
Thursday: Sevenmile Rim, then ? (Wipeout Hill, Tusher Tunnel, Hidden Canyon?)
Friday: Strike Ravine, then ? (Flat Iron Mesa, screw around at BFE, drive down to Elephant hill?)
Saturday: Cliffhanger, Kane Creek
Sunday morning: Fins and Things and/or Hells Revenge

Here are some pics from Strike Ravine

A few notable items. This trail says it is not difficult, it is not, but unless you have a lift and sliders there will be body damage. Big ugly is the only named obstical and it is just that, BIG and UGLY!!! It is basically a long hill will loose rocks the size of small to medium bolders. With a 3 inch lift I put a good dent in my rocker just behind the front tire, lost a fender flare, and destroyed a hub cap.
This spot was a little hairy!! Especially with the IFS. I didnt get a good shot but it tried really hard to put me on my side.
I'm not saying we shouldn't run it, I just want those is less built rigs aware of what it is. O and the TJ lost an axle.

I've created a Google doc that we can all see. I want to keep track of who will be there, and when...and what gear people will have.

I'm still not 100% sure I'll be there due to waiting on getting my training schedule from work but I'm planning on being there Fri-Saturday. If my rig can't make it on a run I'll just hop in with someone else and photo whore for everyone since I need to drive my truck home and to work after Moab

Re: Classics go to Moab III
Dang. I wish I could get down there earlier on Thursday. I really want to run sevenmile. How long of a run is sevenmile?
Are those on the list the only ones going?
Is any besides wolf girl coming from T4R?

I just started the doc so it will change over time. AJ and FootOfGod, I believe, are going with us as well...I just need to nail down the days they'll be there.

Gear wise I've got a compressor, tow strap, shackles, and I'll have basic tools.

No, but I'm planning on ordering one next week.
FWIW, I'm ok with body damage, I just need to be able to get home.

Sevenmile is 10 miles, says Traildamage.com. I don't mind putting it off until the afternoon, there's other stuff in that area to do in the morning. What's your schedule that day, can you make it out by 1 oclock or so? I think you should pull your boys from school that day too. Tell Britt that it's for a greater daddy-son experience.
Peeps from T4R are Wolf Girl (what's your real name?) coming from New Mexico, FootofGod (Bill) coming from Colorado, and Quatre Coureur (Paul) coming from California. Paul will be there before us, he's showing up the 21st and saying at a hotel. Not sure when Bill is coming out, I'll find out.
AJ, you're going to be down there before us too, right?

I'm hoping to have my radio in as well, but will need some help tuning it.

Re: Classics go to Moab III
For the most part, they are. There is the option to fine-tune the signal though, for maximum range. We should all be within a few hundred yards of each other so a basic CB and antenna should be fine. I have a handheld one with an external magnetic antenna. Within a reasonable range, I believe it works OK...but a high-end one, like a Firestick, would allow me to communicate with Mars.
