Re: Future planning
So my wife can't get Thanksgiving weekend off, which puts a crimp in our own Turkey Day In Moab plans. If anybody else is going to be down there, I might be able to roll down for an overnighter and join in on some trails or even just go putting around the back country.
Assuming I have a truck that's legal to drive, of course.

I may be able to sneak away for an over-nighter as well. Don't think a full weekend trip is in the cards.

Re: Future planning
I'm in Vegas for Thanksgiving - not sure if I'm taking my rig down yet to run the Logandale trails. That reminds me, if you ever want to spend a couple days down there (takes about 5 hrs. to get there) and run them, just let me know. My brother-in-law is a Clark County Firefighter/Paramedic and gets lots of time off. He spends his free time wheeling those trails in his Grand Cherokee and also plays on the dunes in his Rzr XP. He knows that place inside and out!

I've always wanted to run logandale. Sounds like we need to plan something.

Re: Future planning
First I've heard of it was when you mentioned it, Andrew. I'd love to go down and check it out.
Re: Future planning
Any ideas for a November function? We didn't get together for October and I feel like we lost a little steam. Are the monthly get togethers too ambitious? Would quarterly be better?
Soon as I have a truck again I'm headed for the Swell, but I don't mind riding shotgun with somebody if anybody wants to do something sooner.

Re: Future planning
I'm down for a monthly trip. I'm heading to St. Geroge on the 16-17th.
Here are some places I'd like to explore in the future (no real rock-crawling that I know if though, more expedition stuff).
- Escalante (searching for slot canyons to explore)
- Colorado
- Skyline Drive (but not in the winter)
- Ashley National Forest
- 9 mile canyon
- Bluff Utah (searching for Native American Ruins)
- Northern Section of the Grand Canyon
- White Rim Trail (Moab)
- Kokopeli Trail (Moab)
- White Sands to Canyonlands (Moab)
- Beef Basin to Elephant Hill
- Southeast side of the Swell, over towards Capitol Reef
- Pony Express to Wendover
- Vernal (there is some rock crawling here)
- Delta (they have some easy trails and some insane trails)
Anyone planning on joining Cruiser Outfitters for their Freeze Your Tail Off in December? That's an annual favorite of my wife and me.

Re: Future planning
Back to what Kevin said earlier, I'd like to keep the monthly runs/ wrenching parties/ something. I don't think it's too terribly ambitious and I realize that everyone can't make it every time. I enjoy hanging out with everyone I've met so far!

That might change once you meet me.
I agree, a monthly trip is the way to go.

Oh yeah, you have a 4Runner now, huh?
Re: Future planning
I like the idea of the monthly runs still. I know we may miss a few but it happens. I will have a hard time with November with Thanksgiving in Moab. But will try. What about a Saturday morning at rattle-con?

I'm always game for a Saturday run at Snakes. I think they're fun trails.

Sweet. If I don't have a truck by then, I'm gonna start kicking puppies.
Re: Future planning
Let's talk about a March run/meet. We can try and set up a trail run, or we could just meet at a park somewhere and check out each others rigs, grill some brats, talk about trips and generally freeze our butts off.
Everybody's input is welcome here - I know some of you just joined the forum and haven't met anybody and have no idea what's going on, that's cool, all are welcome and we'd love to meet you.

Re: Future planning
I think a trail run would be fun, but I'm up for whatever as long as there's food.
