3rd Gen upper control arms
So I thought some of you (Brady) might be interested in this little bit of info. I crawled under my truck the other day to install my breather extention and noticed that one of my upper control arms was bent pretty good.
So I pulled them both off and took them to work to reinforce.
I actually extended them 1 inch to center my axle a little better. I know it won't until I extend the bottoms but figured I would do it while they were off.
Brady I highly recommend you look into this. Appenantly Toyota didn't think about people like us when they designed the link system with 1/2 inch rod.

When you get them back on I'd be interested to see how the axle sits. When my 4runner isn't driven everyday I may have you do the same to mine.

I don't think it will change anything but the pinion angle until I do the bottoms. As for strength all I did was sleeved the 1/2 rod with .120 wall 1/2 ID DOM. Strength will be increased dramatically.

It really didn't effect it. It just rolled the diff up a little.
