About 4 months ago I reached a personal best of 265lb on the bench press.  My next goal was 300lb...before the end of the year.  I'm just about there (click on the photo for video)...

That's awesome.  I don't even know how much I press right now, I should find out.  Probably not that much though, that looks like a lot of weight on that bar!

I just tried - I got in about one and a half reps before I started wobbling all over the place.  No spotter, so I decided to stop right there.  

But I just found out the other day that we've got a little gym here at work, so maybe I'll start hitting the iron again.  I don't mind when scrawny little bastards like Andrew hike my ass off, but it's completely unacceptable that he's older than me and stronger too.  Something must be done.  So it's either start working out again, or kidnap him and tie him up in my basement.

I'm not sure which is going to be harder.

Did your surgeon say what type of procedure he is planning on doing or how extensive of a repair is needed? Mine was more or less a reconstruction of my entire shoulder capsule and it took me a while to even get back doing any sort of free weight exercises. Hopefully all goes well with the operation!

It'll be arthroscopic surgery.  I've got what they call a SLAP (superior labrum anterior to posterior) tear.  The doc said it was pretty small and he is going to reattach it to the bone. He seems pretty optimistic that I'll can get back to 100% within 2-3 months.

Freak I wish my rehab was only that long! I have 3 internal anchors holding everything to bone and then about 3-4" of internal stitches holding everything else to itself. How did you fubar yourself?

Yeah hopefully it goes as well as he says. I currently have full range of motion and can do most exercises except anything with a push motion, though sudden movements tend to hurt. I think it has occurred over time but about 2 1/2 months ago I was doing a fairly light weight bench and I felt a pinch followed by pain in my shoulder.

Yeah mine was alot worse than that so you should be up and going quick. At least your shoulder hasn't dislocated itself while trying to turn the steering wheel while driving. That was a scary day haha
