I'm up for that too, but you should've done that before you swapped the canoe for a bike

Re: Official MTB Thread
So you know how bad my legs suck, but if you're willing to wait for me at the tops of the hills then I'll tag along.
Ian wants to come too if that's ok.

Re: Official MTB Thread
Going to do this on Sat. since I'm heading up to Logan to pack up some of my daughters stuff to bring home. We can negotiate the time.
My house is on the way for you, why don't you stop by and we'll pile into a single vehicle.

I like this. How early is early?
Re: Official MTB Thread
how early would you like it to be ? I wasn't too worried about early-early since the trail is at 7600' elevation and won't get too hot during the day and I forgot to add the I'm going to Logan on Sunday not Saturday.

Re: Official MTB Thread
Whatever works for you. Strawberry likes to make thunderstorms in the afternoon when it's hot, but the forecast is for 70 so...
Re: Official MTB Thread
Kevin and I ran about 2/3 of Strawberry Narrows yesterday. Perfect weather and a beautiful trail but it needs some love. Last winter's snows yielded lots of downed timber. A bunch of smaller ones that really interfere with the flow of riding and one big SOB that is treacherous to climb around. Most of the smaller stuff could be cleared with a small folding pack saw but the big one needs some love from a chain saw.
the small
the SOB
Kevin's son at the highest point of the trail.
I broke a chain and at exactly the same time, Kevin's crank arm came off again. I had a spare master link to fix my chain and Kevin's crank arm decided to stay on for the rest of the trip.

Re: Official MTB Thread
I'm guessing a shuttle ride, would take wayyyy too long to walk up that.
That said, since I live at the bottom of corner canyon my plan is to start riding as far up as I can then ride back. Hopefully I can build legs of steel like Kevin.

Re: Official MTB Thread
So I discovered the new bike was already tubeless, but didn't have any sealant. I also discovered tires on tubeless rims are a mofo to remove. I ordered a sealant injector and presta core remover. If anyone needs to borrow them you're welcome. Might make it easier to get the tires seated, then just inject. My sealant hasn't arrived yet so I can't report how they work. I ordered some of the orange stuff

Re: Official MTB Thread
Here it is, the Bear River/Smiths Fork trail on my Nat Geo Trails Illustrated map. Somebody built it in CalTopo.
