Swell Trip May 19th-21st

Planning to head to the swell on the 19th of this month. Talked with Kevin and he's on board as well. Loose plans so far, but will probably hike the Little Wild Horse slot canyon on Friday. I know the days suck for most of you, but they are my crappy days off. Throwing the invite out to anyone that wants to join. Will probably plan another hike for Friday or some sort of exploration, still early in the planning process.

If I wasn't starting a new job next week I'd join you guys. You ought to get your days off changed Josh.

How many new jobs do you keep getting? Geez Brady! Haha that being said I'm out for those days sadly.

I hope to stay at this new one for awhile. The new job is up in Ogden so I don't have to deal with the traffic to and from 33rd South any more.

Crack Canyon/Chute Canyon loop doesn't need ropes and would probably fill a day nicely.

That campsite looks great to me but it puts us on the wrong side of the Reef for LWH. That could still work if we drive in Thursday, do LWH as an up-down, THEN drive around Behind The Reef and camp at Chute, Friday hike the Crack-Chute loop, pull out Saturday?

You can still get to LWH from that side, to get between LWH and Bell canyon you actually walk a mile or two on that road

What time do you want to head out Thursday? I'm thinking mid morning 1000ish. Also just a heads up, in perfect timing my knee has started acting up again. I took today off from work in hopes to prevent a full on flare up like last time. I hope i'm good to go for hiking, but may only be able to hike one day. I'll have to play it by ear. Also the wife and the pup are joining

I'm off work at 0830, so 1000 works well for me. Keep that knee on ice!

Just in case your knee is too bum for hiking, there's nearby mining stuff to check out - Hidden Splendor, Temple Mountain, Tomsich Butte and Lucky Strike if we drive a bit.  Or we could go north and check out rock art in Three Fingers Canyon and then jam up Buckmaster Draw.  Or go down to Poison Springs Canyon, or bop around the corner into Capital Reef, I don't know about crossing the Muddy in May but we could take the highway through Hanksville.  I wouldn't mind driving under I70 through Eagle Canyon and Coal Wash either, I'd like to do that route again.

I'm looking forward to hiking those slots, but don't be afraid to cry uncle if your knee isn't up to it.

I left my phone in the truck, so whatever pics Josh has is what you get. There might be GoPro footage of a 300 pound fat guy trying to spider a crack seven feet above a waist deep pool of water and failing. Or there might not. I suspect not, because if there was he would have posted it by now.

Straight back to work, haven't even fully off loaded the truck yet. Gopro is still sitting in the back seat. I'm going to go through the footage on Wednesday when I'm off. I'll try and hack some video together. I'll see if I can get some pictures off my phone uploaded tonight
