Weekend of Jan 19th

If we're not heading up to help Ty tear his junk apart, I'm free. I don't have the gear to camp in this weather, but I'm down for a day trip about anywhere.

Who's free? Where are we going?

Nope. Just Saturday. I think I'll be overnightimg at Simpson springs on Friday night.

Looks like they've got their board hidden away unless you register, and that's a pretty unwelcoming welcome email. Do they make you be a member to hang out on the forum?

I'm not a member yet. Once you register you can.participate in most of the.forum. you don't need to be a member for this trip.

I might make this trip. We're watching the neighbors 4 kids that weekend so I'll have to really consider if I leave my wife with 8 kids (7 if Kallin comes with me) for the day Shocked

I would be interested in going along for the ride. I wouldn't be available until after 1:00PM. I am taking the 11 and 12 year old scouts on the Klondike up AF canyon Friday-Saturday. Should be an interesting experience.
Let me know what time you guys would be meeting up and I will see if that works out or not.

I'm pretty sure this trip will begin early AM and by the time you're able to join, they'll be on their way back from Wendover. We could all stick around here and make a day trip somewhere else...

Isn't AF Canyon closed? Or do you go to a part that is still open?

No, AF canyon isn't closed. We will be staying at Mutual Dell. I wonder if you are thinking of the parking lot up at Timpooneke, that's been closed since early fall. Don't hold up the trip on my account.

I'm up for a trip. I should have some new shoes on the truck before Saturday so I'll need to break them in! I think the PET trip is longer than I want to do this Saturday. Anyone have a shorter trip?

MMaybe you guys could.start.out.on the pony.express and.take.it to Simpson springs.

Then, if you're feeling like a long.run, head to little Sahara sand dunes via back roads. Then you can.play on the sand too.

I'm gonna guess fewer rocks, much deeper snow. But there's only one way to find out... hell, with a Tundra breaking trail we might actually get a fair ways up there, and with as thick as the inversion is likely to be by this weekend, I'm down for any excuse to get out of the valley.

I'll do some poking around, see if I can find out more about the trail.

That's not a bad idea either, especially since a bunch of cruisers and a tacoma will have packed the snow down real good for us. Smile

I'll be with Wasatch cruisers. It'll be a good time.with great people. I'm sure there will be a handful of people who don't want to drive all the way to webdover. They're Toyota folks and it should be a good time

^^ I like this idea as well. We can hang with the group for awhile and then stay more local than Wendover. Then, we should be close enough for Chris to meet up with us in the afternoon, if he is able.
