Brassy and I drove up Old Ward Canyon today, then up Skyline and north to Farmington Canyon and back down.  Good stuff.  My favorite part was the silly guy in the side by side who turned around on Old Ward because it was very rocky and "too hard", telling me there's no way my full size truck would make it through.  I thought about offering him a ride up to shut him up, but he was just trying to be helpful.  Here's pics.

The big rock is really the only technical spot on Old Ward, and it's fine as long as you take it slow (and have a spotter to make sure you don't crunch your wife's rocker panel!). There's a couple washouts and zigzaggy spots where you have to pick a line, but really, if you can handle the off camber bits it's not a hard trail at all.  I stayed in four low most of the time just to keep the trans temps down, some of the climbs are steep.

No damage to the Wiferunner, but Brassy lost a mudflap and this semi-crucial bit of hardware:

His girl got hungry so we came down a little early, but we came across another trail called "Farmington Flats". It shows as a 4wd trail on my map and the sign was for OHVs, so maybe it's at least marginally technical? We need to go back up there and camp and explore more.

Good photos Kevin! I thought it was good for a quick trip up and down especially with it being local to me. I like to check out that trail you saw as well. Could make for a good overnight trip.

I think my rigs eats mudflaps... and apparently shock bolts as well.  Time to check all the bolts and apply some blue loctite.

Whenever anyone wants to head up farmington canyon, let me know. I know a few cool spots, plus I would like to explore some more.

That's odd. When I got back from the PET trip, I had one of those missing.

You had a lot of things missing after the PET trip I guess. Very Happy
