Thread is a placeholder - we're tentatively planning this for the week of October 20th, any opinions on that date?  Length of trip?  It's going to be probably an 8-9 hour drive, we'll want to budget a day for travel each way.

Leave the weekend before, spend 3-4 days on the trail, then grab a hotel in Tahoe and hit the Rubicon or Fordyce on the way back? Shocked

We can always break up the drive and camp out at my BIL's house. He's got plenty of room for us to pitch tents or sleep in the back of our rigs. It's right about 5 hours to his house from here (he's about an hour North of Vegas in Logandale) and then I believe it's another 4 hrs or so to Death Valley.

Making the "loop" and running the Rubicon would be CRAZY....but awesome....Twisted Evil

9 hours isn't too bad of a driving day but it could be cool to split it up. I know my rig won't make it through Rubicon but I'm totally going to try and make this trip for sure. I have no clue what my work schedule will be or my time off situation but damn it will be a cool trip.

Logandale huh? You should hit a couple of the trails there on your way down!

Ah, that's right! I totally forgot. He lives right by the Logandale trails - he knows that place inside and out. He's taken me a couple of times...they have some crazy stuff. He's actually made it a side job to guide out of state crawlers and side-by-sides. He had a group of guys come out from Kentucky for a couple of days. They drove ALL around that place - the guys loved it! They loved it so much, that they dropped him like a $1000 "tip" for his time Shocked

So yeah...that's another place we can go as well...
