Saturday 10/26 trail run
Can any of you make it out on Saturday October 26? I want to run a trail that relatively close by but is something different than snakes and forest lake. Let me know of any trails that are fun to do and if you would like to go.

Have you driven Mineral Basin yet? I've got my tcase rebuild kit in the mail, but if it gets here in time I'm down to wheel.

I have done mineral basin once before. That was before I got the regeared t-case and the rebuilt engine. I'm down for that! What's a good meeting place and would earlier like 9 or 10 work?

We normally meet at Tibble. 9 or 10 is about right for me, but Snivelous is going to pitch a fit .

I doubt I'll be able to make it. Got shoulder surgery tomorrow.

Can't you guys be less productive and relax by not wheeling until noon. Not that it matters, I don't think my rig can do Mineral Basin with the tiny tires I have...

You can get through on 31s with some careful spotting, although a locker would help and you'll test your sliders in a couple spots.
If my truck is ready, I can go whenever.

Re: Saturday 10/26 trail run
Okay, seriously: Do you think I could make it very far up mineral basin without needing to winch myself every 50 feet? As offroad medic said, my tires are only 29" in diameter and then I have the 3" lift and all my armor is aftermarket and have sliders, and of course I have traction control to pretend to be a front/rear limited slip. Even though I have enough armor to bash through most stuff, I'd rather not and ultimately the truck needs to not get hurt so I can drive back to school and 500 miles home in December.
It sounds like two of the three guys I wheel with are gone this weekend so I might head down, and my Jeep buddy might tag along since he likes crawling. Speaking of which, he said mineral basin looked like it had a ton of snow which obviously makes it all the worse for traction which I'm very limited on.

Hey all. Im new to this site but finally put some money into my 4runner with new struts, a 3" lift and 33's. I am curious if you guys wouldn't mind if I came out with you guys for this event for a meet/greet and tested out my 4runner.

Re: Saturday 10/26 trail run
Almost every serious obstacle on Mineral has bypasses. Almost. There's one spot on a cliffside where you have to flex over a large boulder or get very tippy going around it, and that spot might turn you around if you're not confident in your skills. The first time I drove Mineral I was on 30 inch tires with a 1.5 lift and a locker, and I managed to get hung up there and needed the guys to rock me free, but I made it through. I think your truck could do it.snivilous wrote:Okay, seriously: Do you think I could make it very far up mineral basin without needing to winch myself every 50 feet? If it's got too much snow I probably won't go, though. Melting snow = runoff, and runoff equals mud and trail damage, neither of which are my favorite.
Re: Saturday 10/26 trail run
Hey Kyle, there's another party getting organized on RME, you should hook this trip up with those guys.

Casey/Spacecase is a good guy.

Re: Saturday 10/26 trail run
Kevin I checked it out and I agree that we should meet up with them. From what I have heard this is the last weekend that af canyon trails will be open. I heard they close November 1st. Also for clarification we should just meet up with them at the maverick at 10?
