Moab May 29-31
I have to take the scouts camping Friday May 23 and had an idea. I have not discussed it with the other leaders yet so it just that and IDEA.
What I was thinking is camping at 5 mile, and if I can get enough other trucks take the boys on a trail run up Rattlesnake and let them play around up at the old mine shafts.
If I did get this approved would anyone be interested in helping me out?? Saturday morning breakfast would be on us!

My daughter's birthday is the 23rd - let me see what we're doing. Worst case, I can always drive out first thing Saturday morning if it's at 5 mile.

I will talk to my Scout Master tonight and suggest it. We can camp up there then if we can come up with enough trucks we can hit the trail!!

Just realized this is the same weekend as OSRC in Delta. Anyone else going? I bet the Scouts would love it there!

I went to OSRC last year. I think it would be a lot more fun if you were on a team or otherwise invested in the goings on.
Re: Moab May 29-31
Well this camp out isn't happening. One of the leaders of the older boys decided to plan a camp out at Antelope Island the next weekend which also happens to be the weekend that I think we are going to Moab. So I get out of a scout trip!!!!!!
Anyone want to go to Moab on the May 30 probably come home the June 2.

Hmmmm...I might be able to head down Friday night and come home Sunday. Is this a family affair? You camping? Which trails you planning to run?

Mostly family mixed with random friends! Not like a reunion. Some will be camping some will rough it in hotels. Trails are undecided. My dad and uncles will be there so there will be a mix of mostly moderate to hard trails. They usually do trails like kanes Creek, triple threat, if others want the run Pritchett, pickle, if there are less built truck there we will run easier talks too!

Re: Moab May 29-31
Just found out that I may not be able to go on this trip either. This is really starting to PISS ME OFF. My wife just text me and told me that her brother is blessing there baby Sunday morning at 9:00. I can't go down until Friday afternoon and would have to come home Saturday early evening.
If I left as soon as Aiden go out of school that would put me in Moab around 5:00 which would be enough time to maybe run a short trail. then I would probably only have enough time Saturday to run 1 trail int the morning. I would probably have time for 2 shorter trails if I new for sure no one was going to have any issues and we could be off the trail by 4:00 so I could be on the road by 5:00 but thats not very likely.
It is not looking promising.

Re: Moab May 29-31
Might not be my place to comment, but I have a deal with my wife - if it isn't on the calendar, I don't have to go. When I've got a trip planned, I let her know as soon as I know dates, and then she lets me know if there's anything on the plate conflicting with my plans, and we work it out ahead of time. She knows that springing plans on me at the last minute is likely to result in me going ahead with what I'd originally planned, that's part of our deal.
Ty, I can't count the number of trips that you've missed because Britt ambushed you at the last minute with something she wants you to do instead. I'm going to buy you a calendar - you put your stuff on the calendar, she puts her stuff on the calendar, and whichever one gets there first wins.

Not my place either, but I agree with Kevin.

I see what your saying the problem is with something like a baby blessing is not on her calendar until they tell her. They went out of their way to be to mine I should probably do the same. The others all very in degree of importance. Talans dance thing I missed the trip for him.

I said my piece and I don't want to stick my nose in your business, so I'll shut up. Sorry if I was out of line.

Not out of line at all. I understand exactly what your saying and I need to incorporate something to that effect. There are just some things that trump others even if its already scheduled.
Brad, Let me make sure that there is no way that I can make Moab before I make any other commitments. If there is any way possible that I can make it work I will. I've been looking forward to this trip since Thanksgiving, I just couldn't get a firm date from my dad until now. I really hope I don't have to wait til Thanksgiving this year to get back down there.

Tyson, you are an unfailingly nice person. You need to get a little asshole in you.
No, that sounds bad. Don't do that. You need to be a little more selfish, how's that?

Re: Moab May 29-31
Looks like I'm back on! I decided the last day of school is pointless so the boys and I are heading down Thursday after school and coming home Saturday evening.
I don't know what trails we are running yet. My dad and uncles are probably running Pritchett Friday. My balls aren't big enough for that yet, so me and my brothers might hit kanes creek or something like that. No idea yet for Saturday.
