Next time, just fake your business trip and then hide in the garage until they come out.clfrnacwby wrote:Huh...maybe I need to leave the country more often...both Ty AND Brady? Uncanny...

^^Now there's an idea! Wished I would have thought of that sooner.

I would love that, but I'm running super short on vacation time and family tradition puts me in Moab Thanksgiving. I would be down for a trip to mineral Basin or sidewinder to check it out!

We should plan a camping trip (or two) back up AF Canyon so we can run Mineral Basin and even hike to Pittsburg Lake. Now that I've been able to explore there a bit, I'm hooked!

I don't know about Sidewinder, I think that's buggy territory. I haven't seen it yet though.Thardy wrote:I would love that, but I'm running super short on vacation time and family tradition puts me in Moab Thanksgiving. I would be down for a trip to mineral Basin or sidewinder to check it out!
Thanksgiving Moab sounds like a plan too. I know you'll be with your family, but maybe we can hook up for a day.
Re: Snakes or AFC Thursday night?
The hike to Pittsburgh Lake looks like it'll give me heart attack, but I'm down to take a swing at it. Probably some good fishing up there.
I'll run Mineral any time, and I wanna explore Miller Hill too.

Re: Snakes or AFC Thursday night?
The key is to take it slow, no reason to run up there and kill yourself. Hike up there in the afternoon, spend the evening and next morning fishing, and then hike back out. Once up there, you're limited to fishing in the lake. The lake is surrounded by very steep rock slides so not much exploring beyond that.
Miller Hill is new to me but sounds fun!

Re: Snakes or AFC Thursday night?
I was looking into going camping up there the 19-21 and all our friends and family bailed on us. I know it's during the week but any of you guys are welcome to come along as well. Especially since my wife even agreed to wheeling this time! I will slowly break her into liking it yet!

The camping is better up American Fork Canyon. I've camped out at Five Mile, it was windy and dusty and not very scenic. If you're trying to turn your wife into a camper, may I suggest trees and water?
Re: Snakes or AFC Thursday night?
Sorry for the ambiguity. We are going up AFC possibly by silver lake. She enjoys camping, just not wheeling.....yet

We never did our wives run. We should do something like that this fall.

I think this would be fun, BUT my wife has absolutely no interest in driving.Kevin wrote:We never did our wives run. We should do something like that this fall.

Re: Snakes or AFC Thursday night?
Made it home alive! Had a good time today. It was well worth the shortage of sleep, at least for now. It felt good to be back out on the trail even if it was in the Jeep. Especially after making it up Radiator Rapids that was kind of a rush especially after Brian told me he never got his TJ on 35s up. It just makes me want the runner done even more! As soon as it gets done we need to head back out. Make a trial run before Moab!

Better! The rubbing in front is minimal now. I could probably swing a morning up AFC next week if you wanted, let me know.offroad_medic wrote:How much nicer was it with the new shackles and everything? You can always come up AFC the middle if next week too...just saying...
Ty, lets get your truck done!
