3rd Gen Ball-Joint Party
I need to replace my ball joints here in the next little while. Any of you other 3rd Gen guys want to make a day of it and get them all done?

Yup. Gotta replace the radiator and do the water pump/timing belt, too. We should schedule a Tech Day.
Re: 3rd Gen Ball-Joint Party
Oh I need to do the water pump/ timing belt too, but I think I'll get that done this summer. I feel like I need to do the ball joints first.

Re: 3rd Gen Ball-Joint Party
And hey, didn't somebody have a busted transfer case that needs fixed? I coulda sworn...
Re: 3rd Gen Ball-Joint Party
Yeah, I think I've still got one of those... Unfortunately items like ball joints and engine maintenance come first as it spends most of its life as a DD.

Buy a first gen - you won't need maintenance parties like these ;-)

Don't really need to do my ball joints, but we could do something.

Let's just ask Kevin about 1st gen maintenance...
As for the date of this event, it'll take a few days for me to get my ball joints once I order them so maybe Saturday 4/13?

This truck was an ocean truck that's been sitting for at least 10 years, it's not typical. Once I get everything baselined, I'll go years without having to do anything besides change the oil.
Would a shindig like this be worth renting a bay at Wrenchit? If there were enough of us going in on a daily rental it might not hurt too bad.

Let me look into it. That might be a good weekend for me to go to BC to work on my runner. If so there is room for more than just mine in the shop.
We could rent a ball joint tool from auto zone if needed.

What's the rate at Wrenchit?
Using the extra space at Ty's place up north isn't a bad idea. It's just a drive for those down south...

Re: 3rd Gen Ball-Joint Party
If there's room at Tyson's, i am good going up there - plus there's the funnel if we ever need to use it
Re: 3rd Gen Ball-Joint Party
I am out for the 13th. My crew is working that weekend. I've left them hanging the last 3 time and can't do it again without a revolt. I could possibly do the 20th or 27th of April.
