OK so I got Fred almost done. I hit the key to start it and all I get is a click. I have tried several known good starters and a good starter relay and solenoid. Still just click. I have also made sure the batt is charged nuteral safety is also bypassed

Did you get a fuel pump bracket?

Fred doesn't have a starter relay, all the current that actuates the starter solenoid goes through the ignition, which gets worn out.  Try turning the key to On and then jumping 12 volts from the battery straight to the starter solenoid (small wire).  If that starts the truck, then it's ignition trouble and you need to add a relay like I did.  If you still just get the click, then it's a bad starter.

I used Ford starter relay, I think you tell the guy at the counter its for a '78 Bronco.  Take your crank wire off the starter solenoid, and terminate it on the relay instead.  Then run a chunk of relatively thick gauge wire from the battery to the relay, and then from the relay to the starter solenoid.

Come over and look at mine tomorrow.  They're dead simple to set up.
