Re: GottaBe's Rig
I went to the Discount Tire in Draper. There is a Goodyear tire right next to them so they pretty much have anything you want if your going duratracs
and guys i just ordered some 2nd gen end-links, I'm gonna get everything done hopefully by the end of this week and Im ready to roll! I need to pay attention to the schedule here for sure.
BTW Is there something like a User CP section in this forum so i know what threads i have sub'd to and when there is a reply?

Control bar across the top, go to your Profile and the Topics Being Watched tab.
I think the next shindig will probably be the Wrenchout at Ty's dad's shop first weekend of March. Might be time for wheeling after.

Re: GottaBe's Rig
So how are the Duratracs holding up in all this snow? My wife stole the 4runner twice in the last two days, so i have been driving the Odyssey into work. I think I have some leverage on getting new tires on the 4runner now that she has been driving it in the snow.
Re: GottaBe's Rig
Oh man, I'm so happy I got them just in time to test them out in the snow. They perform very well. I'm really impressed. The only time i could get the the TC light to come on was when i took a turn too fast (on purpose) Love these things!
i guess the only downside of these tires is they don't come with a mileage warranty, but everything else is covered. so yeah I'm happy, i'd totally recommend getting them!

Re: GottaBe's Rig
So here's an update, I gotta get some new rear suspension. The KYB's are maxed out, and the ride is kinda bumpy... just a little... lol If you saw my post on t4r, i shared my expressions very slightly.
Anyway it was all part of the plan, I went to my local 4x4 shop and he said he'd install some 5100 Billie's for around $200 (shocks included) I gotta get these switched out cause the ride is pretty bad. I just hope everything stay's in tact haha

Re: GottaBe's Rig
got me some 5125's and now the ride is good again! I kind of went the expensive route on this one, but I figured since i'm gonna be getting the toytec's up front pretty soon, I might as well match them with some nice rear shocks.
Oh BTW, The harsh ride i was having earlier was partly due to some loose rear end links. I thought i had them cranked down quite a bit, but i went to check them out and they had a little bit of play in them still. I added some energy suspension bushings and they tightened up real nice. It still seemed like my rear end was about lift off when i hit a big enough bump so still kinda sketchy. Anyway Now it's all riding normal I'm ready for some weelin (if i ever get time off lol)

It's not your computer, it's this silly forum. It helps if you use the buttons to host locally instead of using img code.

Re: GottaBe's Rig
good to know that, ill start using those. It looks like they got fixed anyway so thanks to who ever did that.
So bad new bears. For some reason, my driver side shock is really loose. I was driving without my music on today and could hear a rattle coming from the back. I got out to observe, grabbed on to the the shock and sure enough it was able to move freely. I tried to get a wrench up there... failed. my sockets are too short to get over the nut so I tried to hand tighten it and i failed again. (big sigh) the nut is pretty tight but I'm kind of nervous that i have to drive it into to town for work tomorrow before i can go back to the shop that installed these. Cross your fingers i don't die or kill my truck lol.
but yes I agree about getting it dirty. Some guy made fun of my tire shine on the duratrac's so i need to this pretty soon!

Re: GottaBe's Rig
Where do you work? If you want to bring it by my place I can put a socket on it for you, I should be home all day.
You're not going to end up in a flaming pile of wreckage, but you are risking damaging the shock if you lose the nut and the stud comes free.

Re: GottaBe's Rig
That would be great! I work in Sandy, live in PG. It's a way tight fit under there, I think i can get a deep socket over it but it's pretty awkward. The nut is on there pretty far and everything, and I don't think it will come off (i hope)

Re: GottaBe's Rig
Did you get this fixed? I have some deep sockets if you need to borrow anything, I mean you are just down the road from me; its closer than Magna
Re: GottaBe's Rig
yeah I took it to the shop that installed them. Apparently he had had issues getting them tight because of the position. He ended up using one of those joint sockets, then tac-welded the shock mount into place. hopefully it holds! thanks for checking up on me though

Re: GottaBe's Rig
haha I would love to see those coilovers! When are you planning on doing the install? I'm gonna be snagging some here in the next couple of months. I'm not sure if they sell the front boss kit alone or not, but yeah those are the ones I want haha.
I love the duratracs. I got to test them out in some of these snow storms and they have really impressed me. I still have yet to get them dirty though. hopefully i can make one of these trips.
BTW Are you going to do your LBJ's yourself? if so I may have to be there to learn some things.

Come up to BC next weekend. The more hands the merrier, and the more likely we'll have time to find some dirt in the afternoon.
Re: GottaBe's Rig
Yep I am doing the lower ball joints and otre on both sides. Should be next Wednesday or Thursday night just depending on when my lift gets here. I am shooting for Wednesday but we shall see.
All you have to do is call them up and they can sell them to you. Basically anything that they have in a kit they can separate out into a single order. Probably gonna be looking at 750 though.
I am super excited to get the Duratracs. I have only heard good things about them
