Weekend of the 22nd. I'm thinking Friday night on the Lockhart Basin trail, then back to Moab by Saturday evening for bbq with the RME guys?

I have that Fri, Sat, Sun off so it's a possibility for me. How difficult is the Lockhart trail?

I haven't been on it, but it doesn't look sketchy at all. The kicker is the length, I don't know if we'd want to try and do it all in a day or camp in the middle.

I'd love to do Moab in the fall! I'm just limited to the trails I can do.

I bet the rest of us could find room for any of your gear that didn't fit on your SxS.

Or you've got a month and a half to find a street legal 4WD that isn't a street queen? Laughing

Or we don't have to do Lockhart, I guess. We could find somewhere central to camp and do some out-and-backs that have trailer parking at the trailhead.

I'm not concerned about storage - it's long stretches of highway travel.

I'm have a limited slip rear and on 32" highway tires so anything too fun I'll be passenger/spotter on.

I show 70 miles of pavement between the mouth of Kane Creek road and where the Lockhart Basin road pops out on 211. Probably too far, huh?

Are you street legal at all?

The elocker on the Wiferunner is frozen up and if I don't find time to rebuild it you'll be in better shape than me.  Very Happy

Josh and I were just barely able to get through Top Of The World in our stockers, so I'd like to keep anything we drive easier than that.

Yes, I am street legal. I've driven back to Moab from the South (via the highway) after finishing Kane Creek and that was crazy - I'll never do that again. I've driven back to Moab after finishing trails to the North as well and that is not bad at all. Most I've done though is about 10-15 miles...so 70 would definitely be too far.

Is the plan to head down that Friday (10/21)? What time? I might be able to sneak out of work mid-dayish.

Little man gets out of school at 1330 on Thursday so I'm free any time after that. If you guys want to all drive down together that's cool, if we can't leave until Friday afternoon that's cool.

I'm open to what trails we drive too. I'm in favor of whatever works to get the maximum number of us all on the same trail at the same time. I hear Ty bought a quad, what trails do you want Ty?

Kevin... are you planning on taking your F150? Sounds like a great trip, but I'm not sure if I'll have the '95 back together by then. I may be stuck in my Ferd... but I hate to be the black sheep in a flock of 'Yota's!

Haven't decided yet, I might. Either way, you'd be welcome.
