Andrew's next truck
So, there's not been nearly enough talk about what Andrew's next truck will be, now that he's come to his senses and figured out that a RFB Dodge and a little side by side aren't enough. Let's fix that, and give Andrew lots of new and interesting ways to blow way too much money.
For exhibit one, I present the Back To The Future Tacoma.

I have found a rig worthy enough to be my next adventure. Sadly, I am short on the funds required to bring her home. I will likely have them by next summer, but I fear that will be too late.

This is terrible. Just horrible, this post. You can't leave us hanging like this!

Fine...you guys win.

I'm worried about the auto tranny. Price is high for a first gen, but as he points out, that conversion is not cheap. Am I too in love with the coolness factor? Or would this be a GREAT overloading rig???

I dunno. That diesel makes about as much power as the 3vze, it's loud and stinky, it gets garbage mileage for a diesel too. And you definitely don't want an auto either. I think you're too in love with the coolness factor.

I think you should get it. We need to make a club goal of having as many different engines in 1st gen runners as possible.

Most everything west of Colorado shouldn't have too much rust.

Or, wait a year and trade the Ram in on one of these: http://toyotausanews.com/2017-toyota-tundra-diesel-price/
Re: Andrew's next truck
Except now that I've posted that, I don't see anything of the sort being said by Toyota themselves. I think that article is crap.
Re: Andrew's next truck
I think they're holding off for awhile. Reports indicate that the 5.0 Cummins isn't getting the fuel mileage everyone expected. The Tundra 5.7 produces very similar numbers for fuel mileage and HP. Obviously torque will be higher for the Cummins. So why pay $4k - $6k more for the diesel? If they can get the 5.0 to get 20city 27hwy, then I'd pay for it...
