Snakes on Saturday or Sunday?

In theory I'm going to buy a set of shackles from Andrew that'll have my truck back on the trail and I really wanna break in these new tires. I'm busy Saturday, but anybody wanna hit Snakes on Sunday?

Friday afternoon/evening might work too, if I have the shackles on by then...

Saturday morning works for me - I have to be back by 4pm. Instead of meeting up tomorrow morning to drop off the shackles, why don't you come by my house Saturday morning and we'll put those things on there for you? Should only take about 30 mins if we each take a side

I invited a coworker who was down for Sunday, I'll see if he can do Saturday.

He's got a bone stock XJ, he won't be good for Constrictor and we might have to stack rocks at the pinch on Rattlesnake, but maybe we can leave his rig on top of the tailings pile and go on. You've been on Constrictor, haven't you? Do you have to exit through Eagles Nest, or is there another way to get back down?

If you want to do Constrictor, we simply go to Eagle's Nest and then turn around and go out the way we came in. No biggie.

How is constrictor besides waynes world and eagles nest?

Constrictor is very short but has some tricky obstacles. The first obstacle has you driving up against a big bush that scrapes the passenger side of your rig pretty good. If you stay in the middle and miss the bush, the rocks are such that you can quickly get stuck trying to climb them front and rear at the same time. Rocks aren't very tall, just situated weird with the dirt usually dug out in front of them. Nothing a quick tug couldn't fix.

The second obstacle, called Radiator Rapids, has a couple of different lines. You can either take a very wide turn and take it straight on or stay to the left and try to crawl up the big boulder. Rocks are fairly big here but if you stay on the perfect line you can get through without banging up the undercarriage. Once you pass that the trail ends at Eagle's Nest shortly thereafter. It's short enough that I wouldn't mind pulling people through it - especially with a smaller group.

Yeah I'm not overly concerned with banging things around a bit, just the nagging issue of my center diff not locking...

Sounds cool. I'm not so worried about carnage either. I won't be able to go this run (commitments with the scouts) but would like to hit it soon.

You should come, Brady. A small group like this is a perfect time to challenge your rig and take on a trail that you might be a little underbuilt for.

This works for me. I just redid the spring packs, so the bolts should be nice and cooperative.

Looks like the plan is to put the shackles on Saturday morning at my house and then head out after that. You could either join us at my house or meet us at the "parking lot" at the beginning of Snakes. Still working on exact times.

Brady, there's no reason we can't meet somewhere along the corridor if you wanna drive out together, unless you don't wanna get up that early.
