Pole Creek Cave, weekend of September 12th.
Don't hold out on us Kevin! I'm available the 22nd/23rd of August and then the first 3 weekends in September (not Labor Day weekend, which technically is still August). I'd love to take Kallin in there.

I'm waiting for more info. When I get it you'll be the second to know.
Looks like September 12th will be the first weekend you and I both have free.

Re: Pole Creek Cave, weekend of September 12th.
Here's what I got:
I'll do a little research. If we're driving as far as Neola, I'm inclined to make a weekend of it. Should we line up a good campsite, maybe have something else to do in case the caves are lame?
Its called pole creek cave and pole creek sinks. They are above neola. The sinks you can walk in but i dont know how far, the cave where it comes out of in high waters you have to crawl into and then it opens up, I havent been in for years but wanna make a trip in soon myself again. both can be driven right to with just a simple 4wheel drive vehicle.... Hell i saw a mini van do it once but got scrapped to hell underneath. If you drive to neola it takes you right up a main highway, they have a 4 way stop next to a church and gas station, you head north through there and just stay on that road, you will drive up quite a ways... There is a road that goes off to the right that says white rocks, you pass that and go over a cattle gaurd, the next spot is a Y, One heads up a dirt road one turns right onto a paved road. The corner has a fire danger sign and a stop sign with some graffitti on the back. Stay on that till it Y's again, same thing straigh is dirt right is paved. Go right it takes you over a bridge. Thats uintah river, and everything off the left side is white man land and you can fish it, below that bridge is indian. drive over that and another Y is there going left takes you up to some campgrounds a pond is paved about 50% of the way up, this time stay straight and up the dirt road. Its kinda rough since the indians dont have it bladed, you follow that all the way up till you cross a cattle gaurd. Once over that you are back on national forest again, dont stop on indian land they can ticket you if they feel like it. Stay on that main road for a few more miles, there will be a sign that says lower pole creek. Take that turn and head up it, if you just follow it and never turn off you cross a creek come up into a parking lot of sorts and the sink is off the hill, you will see the big huge cliff face and its at the base. On the lower pole creek road there is a turn that heads towards the base of the mountain, away from the main road, if you drive up that you can get to the cave. as you drive up the road splits and just go as straight as you can, you will be sitting on a little ridge line. If you look down into the bottom there is what looks to be a dried up river bed, the cave is at the head of that. There are multiple trails down to it. One spot is actually a lil bit of a crawl out but its nothing hard. Hope that wasnt info overload. Also signal is very sketchy up there, and if you stay on the main road instead of take the lower pole creek road it will drive you all the way up around the mountain and take you down the other side. Its a pretty good loop.

Might have to bring my gold pan. Somebody remind me to check if there's any active claims up there to avoid.

I wouldn't be able to leave until right around 1700 hours. If you guys want to get a head start and find us a good camping spot, by all means, please do. We can agree on a location where we'll meet up that evening.

The most wheeling my rig has seen since all the work Brady and I did was at the farm. Which sadly included getting strapped by your dad's j**p . Black Beauty needs to see some trails with rocks to drive over!

I won't be up to Brigham till Saturday afternoon. Aiden had a ball game Saturday morning then we are heading up. I'm hoping to have a big day on it. I should at least get Kevin's axle out. I hope to get my Dana 44 done as well but that is a bigger project than I planned.

I'm down for this trip if you are, Josh. Moab sounds fun though, what trails were you thinking?
