Return to the Sheeprocks? 11/28

Post by Kevin on Mon Nov 24, 2014 1:55 pm

I still want to see if there's anything left of those mines, gonna head back this Friday if the weather is halfway decent. Probably come in from the front side this time because I'm still not sure if that one road goes all the way through.

Anyone in?

I think I'll be headed over to 5 Mile with the group from RME. I'd like to find those mines you talked about though.

I thought they were doing that on Thanksgiving Day.

Maybe we should do both.

I think they switched to a Black Friday run.

Ok, we're in for Snakes Friday morning.  Nicole is going to drive. We'll come up as far as she's comfortable and then peel off for exploring.

Went up on Black Friday after wheeling Snakes, found the right canyon but didn't go up far enough. Thinking about trying again this Saturday, or at least heading out somewhere and doing something, anyone down?

You'd be fine Devin. It's all dirt roads, just don't blow a tire like I did.

Yup, I don't expect anything that a stock 4Runner can't handle. Shall we meet at the Faust Pony Express Station at 0900?

Yeah I'm not gonna make it anyways... I got the lift on UT the front is way way to stiff so I gotta lower the strut a little bit to compensate, replace a lug, put the diff drop in, then on top of that put in front extended brake lines in and do my alignment... So I should have a fairly busy day to say the least
