possible shop day

Post by Monsteryota on Fri Dec 27, 2013 6:08 pm

Ok so I talked to my boss about sponsering this club by letting us have use of a bay or two for a day. We have shears brake press stainless steel and alum welders plasmas tourchs and last but not least air and heat. He said that would be good if on some service projects we mention Wabash as well. Also he said who ever showed up would have to sign a release so if you get hurt you can't blame the company. He will be talking with the main boss and I should have an answer soon. Please post and let me know thoughts on this if I went to far or when you all would like to do this. Thank you for reading.

I think it's a good idea. It'd be nice to have access to all that if someone has a major mod to do are if we end up with a service project that needs it.

So is your boss cool with this, AJ? Do we need to pick a day? I don't know about the rest of you, but I've got a couple projects that need doing that I don't want to do in my cold driveway!

I am in as i have a few things that i need to do as well. Been missing lots of wheeling cause school and work as straight messed my schedule up hardcore and have seriously almost no time for anything anymore. Sad but let me know the day and i will take some PTO or something so i can attend and help out.

I have been looking for a place with a press brake i could use so i can build a rear bumper or front. If only you guys had a tube bender and you would have the perfect shop lol

I could do ball joints, but then I'd actually have to order them.

I have my entire lift to do, I have front CO's, rear shocks and springs, extended brakelines, adjustable panhard, LR UCA's, and more. If I can get my sliders and bumper painted by then, i'll have those too.

The press brake we have is not that great and can only do flat plate. As far as a pipe bender  I'm not sure but I think we have a harbor freight one. Just got to keep in mind it is only 8hrs of use for a week night or 10 hrs if we do a weekend days are out as I work days and that is our busest time so m-f 330 ish to midnight or sat -sun 7-5

All it really needs to do in reality is 10g and it is good. Most other stuff you can just cut and weld. 8 hrs is plenty honestly. And I could pretty much only do a Saturday or Sunday cause school and work make me a dull boy with no life lol

The 1st works for me, but AJ hasn't been on the board in a bit and he's the one we need to hear from.

Spoke to AJ today, this weekend doesn't work to invade his employers garage. I'd offer my driveway, but it looks like it's supposed to be crappy weather.

Unfortunately I don't think this will happen at my work. Recent events have come up and sounds like I may be unemployed here before to long. But I am in the works of getting my own shop Very soon. I should know on it by the middle of the month. It's a 6 car shop we should be able to fit 4 in at a time with out hassle. Maybe 5 it will have a small air comp full tools wired for 110 and 220 so bring welders if you got them. I'll have a 220 stick welder there.
