Willard peak 10/14
Hey guys. I haven't posted in a while. Been busy with projects and some maintenance. But I managed to get out with the family and hit Willard peak. There were some very snowy parts but it was a blast. I need to go with you guys sometime now that I've got a little more respectable set up. I got some 285/70/17 bfg at and some new 17x9 mob wheels.
And a pic from ward canyon road in bountiful
I'm also working on a trunk rack for my on board compressor and hi lift. I'll post progress pics if you are interested. I'm welding it out of 1" square tube and bolting to the floor.
I'll try to get on here more and get out with you guys sometime.

Re: Willard peak 10/14
Nice pics. How was Old Ward, anything technical up there or is it just a dirt road?
Re: Willard peak 10/14
Ward canyon is pretty good, but I can't make it all the way down it. About a half mile in from buck land flats there is a rock cluster I haven't even tried to make it over, I don't think I would make it. Haha, that's what I'm doing in that pic, turning around.

That sounds promising! You've got sliders, right? Lets go scuff 'em up.Brownfaux wrote:About a half mile in from buck land flats there is a rock cluster I haven't even tried to make it over.

Looks like fun to me and not a far drive to get there. I'm game to go play in ward canyon sometime. Having something other than a bunch of 3rd gens to wheel with was good for Kevin last week

No sliders yet, but this is why I need to go wheeling with other people, to see what a 4runner is capable of!

Re: Willard peak 10/14
I guess I've been on Old Ward and didn't know it, but after a little research I'm pretty sure that's the way Stratton and I went up when we went to go rescue that kid in the Bronco - straight up from the B, and ties back into the Skyline Drive connector, right? There's some rocky sections for sure, but nothing harder than Forest Lake or Rattlesnake. I'm fairly certain we could get your truck through there if you wanted to try it again, Brownfaux.
Re: Willard peak 10/14
I've gone up from the b too, but the road was a little washed out to continue. My thing is, I have my wife and 3 year old in the car, so in not too big on taking real risks with them.

Re: Willard peak 10/14
I promise not to ever let you break your truck*, or your family. We're not the sort of club that makes a habit of pushing our trucks to destruction. Nobody has ever gotten body damage on the trail with us that wasn't ready for it. If we got up there and it turned out to be too much to get you through without damage, we'd turn around and wheel somewhere else, that's all.
But I'm really close to positive that your truck can get through there cleanly with some careful spotting, and I'd be happy to head up there with you if you wanted to take another swing at it. I think you'd be amazed what places your truck can go with some skilled driving/spotting.
* not without your permission, anyway.

It's always nice knowing I'll still be able to drive home and to work after a day of wheelingKevin wrote:I promise not to ever let you break your truck*, or your family. If they can get me up forest lake stock, they can get you up that stock. I'd trust them again. However, Never give kevin permission*Kevin wrote:I promise not to ever let you break your truck*, or your family. We're not the sort of club that makes a habit of pushing our trucks to destruction.
