Stock axle vs dana
Hey so im still looking into a rear locker and i was just curious if anyone knows if there is an after market full axle that will swap? like a dana 60 or dana 44 that would be the same length as the stock axle on a 97 sr5?

Yes there is. You can get a dana44 out of a Wagoneer or Cherokee. Hers the deal though if you stay 4.88 gears or higher your fine but gears don't match any lower. Also you're not saving any money as for a locker. Unless you are doing an SAS with a dana44 front theni would stay with the Toyota. You will gain 0 strength going to the Dana. I am planning on going to the Dana rear eventually (when Kevin is ready to buy my Toyota) just so I can match gears.
By the way I have research this A TON! Stick Toyota!

yeah thats the point im at right now is the research and decision portion of what exactly do i wanna do with rear axle... i mean ideally i wanna get a limited rear and just swap them and wire it up and call it good but they are extremely hard to find and when ya do find one its the pain of shipping and all... so trying to find a more easily accessible resolution for a rear locker... but we will see what happens..
