This 4.7 case is the bomb. If I ever start another build, it'll be the first thing I do. Before tires or lift or lockers or anything, I'll have upgraded transfer case gears. You 3rd gen guys have to get one. Get the adapter or whatever it takes to get the gear drive case and get you some 4.7 transfer case gears.
Re: Snakes with Jeeps
Is there an adapter to make those gears fit?
You need to get sliders on so you can take the harder right line through that rock garden.

Yup, with Toyotas, it's t-case gears first (esp. with a manual), then lockers and diff gears. T-case gears is the fastest way to lower your overall crawl ratio.
Yessir. You just need an adapter to the adapter and a 23-spline t-case and gears. Marlin is da' bomb is this department and can hook you up. Word. :afro:dutchman wrote:Is there an adapter to make those gears fit?

3rd gen needs an Inchworm Lefty, I think. Don't google it unless you're sitting down.
This is why you need a first gen.

I ducked into it, but with no sliders and still rubbing tires in the front I exited early instead of taking the line Andrew did.

Inchworm Lefty is one option. Here's the other http://www.marlincrawler.com/transfer-case/line-ups/dual-tcases/dual-tacoma/dual-case-unit-mc09-t360
