To powder coat or not to powder coat? Empty To powder coat or not to powder coat?

Debating on whether I want to have my bumpers powder coated or if I just want to take the time to sand, clean, and re-paint. What do y'all think?

Powder Coating:
-Higher initial cost
-Supposed to be durable
-More difficult to touch up

Painting:
-Much lower cost (I can do it)
-Easy to touch up
-More likely to rust

Repaint. The paint will scratch but the powdercoat will chip, and you can't touch up powdercoat with a rattlecan.

That's the way I'm leaning. Maybe I'll just have them sandblasted to speed up the clean-up process.

That would be my suggestion.

I'm a fan of a well done rattle can job. One of my buddies had all his bumpers coated in Line-X so that they would allegedly not scratch off but I'm not too sure how well it actually held up since he sold his truck a little while after that.

I heard this stuff works really well. I think this is what I will use on my axles.

Good suggestions on product to use, thanks. Do you guys know anyone that does sand-blasting?

Funny thing. I was going to ask the same thing. I need my axle blasted. My dad has a guy up north but I would have to talk to him. I'm looking for someone more UC local.

Is your axle down south? If you end up talking to the guy your dad has let me know.

POR15 will break down under UV light. If you use it, put a really good coat of paint over the top.
