What's on your Hit List?

Post by Kevin on Sun Jan 20, 2013 12:25 pm

Let's talk about where you wanna go, see what destinations we can match up and what trips we can make happen this year.

My big ones, that I'll likely only get to do one of this year, if that:
Rubicon
Ouray/Uncompaghre (Black Bear and Imogene are high on my list)
Death Valley
Baja Peninsula
Modoc National Forest Byway
Kokopelli

More realistic local/overnight/multi-night trips:
White Rim
Elephant Hill/Beef Basin
Skyline to the Swell
Poison Springs Canyon
Hole In The Rock
Newfoundland Mountains
Murdoch Basin
Hog Canyon
Sand Hollow
North Rim/Arizona Strip
Blacks Fork, Uintahs
Transcontinental Railroad to PET loop
Explore the PET and southward
City of Rocks
Explore the open-travel area at 5MP for new trails.
Hite Crossing to Green River via The Maze
The Henry Mountains
Cathedral Valley
The La Sals
Pretty much anything in The Swell, The Book Cliffs, The Maze, Moab region, all that.

I also want to make several Moab pilgrimages with my Wells guide and do one trail each from the easy, medium, and hard lists each trip.

I would be game for any one of those!! There are a few on your list that I haven't heard of, but that doesn't mean I don't want to run them.

I have plans for the City of Rock trip via the transcontinental Railroad grade. I have been wanting to do it for a while but never have. I would like to make plans it for this fall!! It would almost be a 3 day 2 night trip. I think the little boys would love it as much as us big boys! Laughing

Not sure where/what half of the trails that Kevin put up are, but I'm game for every trip I can make! The only must for me would be getting down to Moab.

I am down for any of them. I have heard of like two on that list. I like the suggestion of the 3 day one, I would totally bring my boys on that.

I'm with the rest of you - haven't heard of most of these places. During the winter, it's fun to visit historic/scenic places in the lowlands, and then when it gets hot, I like to get up into the mountains and forests to see more of the same Very Happy

Get a graveyard shift so you have nothing better to do than surf the web and look up all the places you can't go because you're at work. Laughing
